Silver Samurai is a character that's often forgotten about both in Marvel Comics and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. He's generally believed to be a low tier or mid tier in the crossover fighting game, so it's rare to see him in action during tournaments.
Jmcrofts recently released a video that talks about how Silver Samurai is an underrated combatant in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Though he doesn't really compare to the "broken" characters in the fighter, he still has access to a number of tools that shouldn't be overlooked.
First off, Silver Samurai's level 3 hyper is one of the best hypers in the game. This attack deals quite a lot of damage, covers basically the entire screen, has good chip damage and is completely safe on block.
Silver Samurai's level 3 is also one of the best ways for him to punish assists. Even if an assist somehow ends up behind the Silver Samurai, the technique's amazing screen coverage will still surely punish them.
What's especially notable about Silver Samurai is his infinite combo. Unlike Magneto and Iron Man, this infinite is performed on the ground rather than the air.
Under normal circumstances, Silver Samurai's standing heavy punch is a button that has a noticeable about of recovery time. However, it's actually possible to cancel out the recovery by crouching.
By crouch canceling and then dashing forward after hitting with a stand heavy punch, there should be enough time to hit a struck opponent with a standing light kick then chain it into another heavy punch. From here, it's just a matter of looping the sequence until the infinite prevention system kicks in. By canceling the ending into his level 3 hyper, a ton of damage can be easily accumulated.
