Though the V-Shift and V-Shift Break mechanics were added to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition along with Dan Hibiki at the beginning of the year, the mechanics are still very much unoptimized at high level play.
Adding V-Shift Break to the game meant that Capcom had to commit to adding 43 new animations (counting both Old Zeku and Young Zeku separately as of Rose's release) to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition. HiFight recently created a video that seamlessly highlights every character's V-Shift Break all in one go.
The match begins with Ryu and Chun-Li, the first two characters revealed for Street Fighter 5. Chun-Li attempts to jab Ryu, but Ryu responds with a V-Shift Break. Following this, Chun-Li counters with a V-Shift Break of her own.
Ryu then seemingly transforms into Nash as another V-Shift Break is activated. From here, all fighters' V-Shift Break animations are showcased in the order that they were revealed in — with the exception of Sagat.
Though Sagat is initially skipped, he ends up appearing after Rose. Since there are no more fighters left, Rose then transforms into Ryu (sporting his younger Alpha appearance) who then performs a V-Shift and punishes Sagat.
After this, we get one more look at every V-Shift Break animation in the game as HiFight then provides the unique name for each character's version of the technique.
