Street Fighter 5 Director shares awesome Marvel Super Heroes concept art and design documents!

Street Fighter 5's Director Takayuki Nakayama has been actively sharing awesome video game artwork on Twitter. Outside of classic Capcom game pieces that you might not have seen before, the developer also draws up what might be the best guesses for King of Fighters 15's character announcement silhouettes.

Today, though, Nakayama took another trip down memory lane and posted several pieces of concept art for Capcom's Marvel Super Heroes fighting game. Not only do we see a finished promotional illustration, but also included are a handful of design documents featuring popular fighters.

The first batch of images Nakayama posted features what appears to be a magazine cover with Captain America standing clear front and center. Behind him are watercolor paintings of other characters including Psylocke, The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Blackheart, and more.

From there, things go more to the rough sketch ideas. We see concept illustrations for various characters and animations with small (hard to read) notes for each.

The full range of Juggernaut's ground pound attack can be seen here, and we even get a look at Dr. Doom's win pose. The first quick shot sees Doom standing over a downed Spider-Man, then the next sketch shows the multiple Dooms appearing over him.

Marvel Super Heroes launched back in October 1995. This Capcom title marked the second fighting game collaboration between Capcom and Marvel Comics, and was one of the important stepping stones to the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

Be sure to head over to Nakayama's Twitter for even more classic Capcom fighting game artwork.
