Oro's ability to double jump could have major impacts on his gameplay due to its uniqueness!

It's been over a month since the Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition Spring Update stream gave us information on Rose, Oro and Akira. Since then, Rose has been released, but we still have to wait a little bit longer before Oro is ready.

During the stream, it was emphasized that Oro would retain his ability to double jump from Street Fighter 3. This will likely be an important part of Oro's gameplay in Street Fighter 5 s it will allow him to trick up opponents as he approached from the air.

The developers noted how this movement option is a "specialty" of Oro's. This seems to imply that Oro will be the only character with access to such a feature in Street Fighter 5. In other words, Akira and the mysterious last challenger for Street Fighter 5 probably won't be able to perform this action.

It's worth noting that when Oro performs his double jump, his horizontal momentum appears to be a lot slower. Overall, it looks like Oro will land in about the same place as he would've if he had only performed a single jump.

The developers also never stated if Oro will be able to change directions in mid-air via his double jump. In other words, they only showed him performing a neutral double jump from a neutral jump, a forward double jump from a forward jump and a backwards double jump from a backwards jump.

Despite these limitations, having access to a tool that allows a character to suddenly alter their jump arc has traditionally been very strong in Street Fighter 5. We've seen this with characters like Akuma, Cammy and Seth.

It's clearly shown that Oro can perform his double jump at different jump heights. This seems like it will be a useful tool for baiting out anti-airs.
